Miami Marlins go gluten-free!!
For those of you who follow my blog, you know that one of my favorite things in life is a gluten free beer and a sporting event. I've had the pleasure of having gluten free beer and snacks at several different stadiums around the country but now I can enjoy such small pleasures in my backyard!

REVIEW: Yasso - Frozen Greek Yogurt

A new & exciting find!

REVIEW: Yasso - Frozen Greek Yogurt

My fiance and I were strolling the aisles of Costco yesterday when something caught the corner of my eye. I normally go right past the dessert aisle since there isn't much for me there but for some reason we did. It was fate. I saw boxes of Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars in strawberry and blueberry flavors. Not only are the bars gluten free but they're healthy! They are all natural, fat free and include 8g of protein and 4g of fiber. And no corn syrup!!

I could NOT wait to try them. I went for blueberry first. Holy yuminess!! They are amazing. Not to sweet, not too tart. If you see these on your next shopping trip, I suggest you definitely snag a box!

Gluten free breakfast for champs!!

Ad Hoc Gluten-Free Pancake & Waffle Mix
My (very very soon to be) Mother-in-Law got me an awesome collection of gluten free baking goods from Williams-Sonoma for the holidays. Just in time, too! I'm in the home stretch of training for a marathon and I don't know about you, but me, I crave pancakes or waffles and some scrambled eggs after a long run. I picture the syrupy goodness at the finish line.

Red Robin Gluten Free Burger + Bun!
We decided to change things up this holiday season and drive to New York for the week. What was once a hassle (I needed a car full of my own food) is now quite easy. But the best find along the way was at Red Robin (we stopped on our way home at the one in Port Orange, FL).

Gluten Free in Paris

Oooh la la ... gluten free!

Gluten Free in Paris
The city of love. There’s just something about Paris... I don’t know what it is but I feel it every time I’m in this beautiful city. The air, the winding (and confusing) roads, the wine, the people, the energy and of course, the food. But this was my first time visiting Paris since being diagnosed with gluten intolerance. I won’t lie, my French is pretty rusty and I was very nervous about embarking on this trip.

Jackpot! Gluten free chicken nuggets.

on Thursday, 14 July 2011. Posted in Recommended

A pleasant frozen food aisle surprise!

Jackpot! Gluten free chicken nuggets.

Thanks to my trusty and well-trained gluten free spotting eyes, I found these gluten free chicken nuggets in the frozen food aisle. I was strolling down the aisle down to where the gluten free stuff normally is, and lo and behold, mixed with the regular chicken nuggets were Applegate Farms Gluten Free Chicken Fingers.

I was SO excited to try them out. Not only are the chicken fingers gluten free, but they're casein and dairy free too. (Added bonus) They're made with a blend of rice and corn flour and organic white meat chicken. I followed the instructions on the box, baked the nuggets and they surpassed my expectations. They turned out crunchy and delish. I definitely recommend these, whether for your children or for the inner kid inside of you who still craves food like this from time to time. And as you can see by the label below, they really aren't bad for you. So enjoy!

Quick gluten free snack

Mi-Del 90 calorie gluten free snack packs
I'm not one for junk food... let me rephrase that... I love junk food but I am not one to eat it regularly. I typically try to avoid buying cookies, chips, etc. but I couldn't resist when I accidentally came across these individual "100 calorie pack" like snacks.

Gluten Free in Chicago

on Wednesday, 22 June 2011. Posted in Recommended

Boy, did I eat a lot of gluten free food or what?

Gluten Free in Chicago
We headed to the Windy City (the nickname actually is in reference to the politicians blowing smoke back in the day, not for the actual wind itself) this past weekend for some Yankees vs. Cubs games. This meeting of teams only happens every 6 years or so and being the good Yankees fans that we are... and look for any excuse to travel... we hopped on a plane and jetted to Chicago. This was my first time visiting and I must say, I really didn’t expect to love the city so much.

I got to the bottom of the mystery!

UPDATE: Mellow Mushrooms NEW gluten free menu
OK, so last week I was posted about whether Mellow Mushroom was going to offering new gluten free pizza's. When I emailed the company (via the website) I got a response from my local Mellow Mushroom saying that the menu was remaining the same. Thankfully, the awesome person who runs the Mellow Mushroom twitter page caught wind of my postings and had a person contact me from corporate. Read all about it here. Then check out their response:
