BREAKING NEWS: Kellogg's to debut gluten free soon!
GFA got the insider information
Until now, Kellogg's stance has been "At this time, we do not offer products suitable for consumers on a gluten- or wheat-free diet. All of our products are produced in facilities that also manufacture wheat-containing products. We cannot guarantee that any products are 100% gluten- or wheat-free."
"Kellogg's® Corn Pops and Kellogg's® Rice Krispies might be suitable, depending on gluten sensitivity. Corn Pops have a very small amount of wheat starch added, and Rice Krispies have a small amount of malt flavoring, made from barley. Check with your personal physician to determine if these products are suitable for you."
The new line will reportedly have a few different cereals and snacks, all labeled gluten free. I snuck a picture of a box to show you :) Exciting, right?? Which Kellogg's snack or cereal would you most love to see gluten free??
But, for an always certified, 100%, no questions asked gluten free cereal, the go-to is Custom Choice Cereal. www.customchoicecereal.com

Great news. I'd like to see Frosties, Ricicles & Coco Pops to be GF - all my childhood favourites!!
Rice krispie treats for my little girl and corn pops too!
Rice krispie treats would be amazing!
I would also love to see Rice Krispie treats Gluten Free!! My son just had a reaction to them but at the time didn't realize they were manufactured in a facitlity with Wheat because the box doesn't state that!
But it looks like Corn Pops and Rice Crispies will not be gluten/wheat free. I am a bit confused...
Yes, they will be (although they haven't announced it yet). The current cereals are not gluten free.
Reg. Rice Krispie would be great.. I however still make rice krispie treats with Fruity Pebbles.. Very yummy!! I'd also like to see cereal bars, poptarts, etc..
Awesome that Kellogg's is recognizing our needs. Disappointed that the Rice Krispies are not Corn-free.
Keep up the good work Kellogg's!
Will they be releasing these in Canada?
I am not sure but I sure hope so!
Color me suspicious... Are they making regular Rice Krispies GF...or introducing an additional product that will probably cost more because it's "special"? If General Mills could make Rice and Corn Chex GF...I would hope that Kelloggs could do the same. Maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but I expect that GF Krispies won't be carried everywhere, and will cost more. I hope that I'm wrong!
My guess is that this will be direct competition with Chex so anywhere you find Chex, you'll find these and cost will be the same.
YEA!!! I'm hoping for GF Frosted Flakes and CoCoa Krispies!! What can I say, I'm a kid at heart!
Frosted Flakes! Good call!!
This is so exciting Rice Krispies used to be one of my favorite cereals! I can't wait....
Would LOVE Frosted FLAKES!! What a dream come true.
what about in the UK? Would love totally GF rice krispies, corn flakes and frosties....at regular prices as on low income :-(
I am not sure yet but I'll keep everyone posted on UK and Canada Kellogg's distribution as I learn it. Right now, my information is limited but hopefully we'll know more soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
I'm not sold on it yet. If they still contain small amounts of wheat starch, or barley malt. They're not really GF. I'd need to see the ingredient list first.
The gluten free line will not contain those ingredients. The quote I posted is their current stance on their products. The new line will NOT contain any of these. Will take a picture of the ingredients list to show but this is still subject to change since Kellogg's hasn't come out and said they are releasing this line yet.
I'm REALLY wishing for GF Corn Pops and Frosted Flakes! Please!!!
Crispix! Love that one!
That would make me the happiest person in the world!!!
Let us hope that their "certification" isn't self-made like Post's! Really looking forward to these if they do it right!
It has icky soy in it so it's still a no-no for my little guy. :(
You wouldn't happen to have more photos of the sides/back of the box?
Sure, I'll snap some this evening!
Yay! Thanks for the great info. I have had a love affair with Snap, Crackle and Pop and miss them desperately. Your write up was very thorough and answered all of my questions. As in: will they be gf in the future? Yes.
Wow, where did you find this? The big guys are clearly getting it. I expect this will be self-certified like Post and General Mills, but that works for me.
Would love to see more cereals with flavour go this way. Definitely excited that Pebbles did.
Wow that is great! I have only had Celiac Disease for about a year now, and that news is music to my ears.
Sounds good. Will they be doing other products as well like regular Rice Krispies and Corn Pops?
Finally, thank goodness, I have really missed Rice Krispies since I found out I had Celiac Disease.
How about in MEXICO?? Kellogg products are everywhere. General Mills doesn't export here and I MISS MY CEREAL! A friend carried down a box of Rice Chex for me and it was . . . well . . . more than exciting.
What was wrong with using the same rice as before and just getting rid of the malt flavoring? If they change too much, they'll change the taste we all used to love.
I hope they're going to do this the right way (new factories with totally new lines, and genuine certification from GFCO), and not the wrong way like General Mills and make loads of us get (gradually) sicker and sicker over several months.
Would love to see corn pops and rice krispies GF. Wish they had an alternate name for Mini Wheats and made them GF.
I think I have Celiac Sprue. I am in desperate need of breakfast cereal. When will your gluten free line come out.
Their cereal will be available by June.
But there are many other options available for gluten free cereals. CHeck out Erewhon, Chex, Nature's Path and Custom Choice Cereal, to just name a few.
I would love gluten free poptarts and Frosted Flakes!
I would love for some lucky charms to be gluten free - not for my kids - for me. Not that this can happen, but a girl can dream :)
please, please, please, bring those to Europe as well and soon !!!!! I can't eat anything else !
