Some Valentine's facts you may, or may not, have known.

Love is in the air! Whether you love it, or hate it, you can't escape Valentine's Day. From Hallmark cards to little conversation hearts (which was awesomely reported by Gluten Freeville that these sweet talkers are gluten free and produced on their own line - check the full story here), it seems that everywhere we turn during the month of February we're surrounded.

New Kozy Shack Items To Hit Store Shelves

I love Kozy Shack and their gluten free tapioca and rice puddings. There is a constant supply of it in our house. And now, we'll have something new on our grocery store shelves soon! And, boy, does it sound de-lic-ous!!

Kozy Shack is introducing a new Coffeehouse Blends pudding. The gluten-free treat comes in three flavors: caffe latte, cappuccino and caramel macchiato. All three sound amazing.

In addition, Kozy Shack is introducing new SmartGels, which use a natural vegetarian-based (carrageenan) ingredient to create a Kosher, gluten-free alternative to gelatin-based desserts. SmartGel flavors include orange and sugar-free orange, strawberry and sugar-free strawberry, tropical and sugar-free tropical and cherry. The treats will be available in convenient 3.5-oz. grab-and-go cups.

I'm not one for junk food... let me rephrase that... I love junk food but I am not one to eat it regularly. I typically try to avoid buying cookies, chips, etc. but I couldn't resist when I accidentally came across these individual "100 calorie pack" like snacks.

Boy, did I eat a lot of gluten free food or what?

We headed to the Windy City (the nickname actually is in reference to the politicians blowing smoke back in the day, not for the actual wind itself) this past weekend for some Yankees vs. Cubs games. This meeting of teams only happens every 6 years or so and being the good Yankees fans that we are... and look for any excuse to travel... we hopped on a plane and jetted to Chicago. This was my first time visiting and I must say, I really didn’t expect to love the city so much.

I'm not sure about your town, but where we live, frozen yogurt stores have popped up on every street corner. And, most of them have gluten free flavors to choose from. You just need to be careful when it comes to selecting your toppings. Especially when the toppings are self-served and the granola and cookies get pushed over to the strawberries and M&M's.

New gluten free cookbook by Erin McKenna

Erin McKenna, owner of the gluten free empire-in-the-making, Babycakes NYC, is set to release her second gluten free cookbook titled "BabyCakes Covers the Classics: Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes from Donuts to Snickerdoodles". Yes, please. I'll take a snickerdoodle and a donut.

This lovely piece of news was delivered to my inbox this morning in "Thing You Might Like" by Amazon.com. This should go in a "We Went Ahead And Already Ordered This Book For You Since We Know You Will Buy It" email. But I guess Amazon is still working on that feature. Anyways, BabyCakes Covers the Classics: Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes from Donuts to Snickerdoodles is set to be released April 12, 2011 but you can pre-order the book now for $14.87 (list price is $25.00) on Amazon. I just ordered mine.

If you absolutely cannot wait until this book comes out, then you can purchase Erin McKenna's first cookbook, BabyCakes: Vegan, (Mostly) Gluten-Free, and (Mostly) Sugar-Free Recipes from New York's Most Talked-About Bakery, today. It's an awesome cookbook so I imagine the second one will be scrumptious!

Because cereal is my favorite meal.

Breakfast (and cereal) are my favorite meal of the day. I know that's sort of odd but I look forward to my cereal concoctions every single morning (with my almond breeze milk). So when I saw in the headlines today that Post Foods is lowering sugar content AND making Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles certified gluten free... well, you can imagine my excitement.
